Brijendra Kala is a very prominent name in the Bollywood film industry, which belongs to Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. He was born in the beautiful district of Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. However, he grew up in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. He belongs to a straightforward and humble family. His father worked as a doctor in a veterinary hospital. His family is basically from Pauri, Garhwal of Uttarakhand.
Brijendra Kala did his schooling in Mathura and later moved to Delhi to do theater as an actor. He tried acting in several plays. After working for more than 15 years in theatre, Brijendra eventually applied as a repertory at the National School of Drama. However, he could not get admission there. Unfortunately, the entries were complete. He later moved to Shri Ram Center intending to perform as a repertory and applied there once again.
However, luck was not with him once again, and he failed to get admission there. Nevertheless, he did not give up and later became interested in local theater groups within Delhi. In 1992, he settled in Mumbai with the motive of trying his luck in Bollywood. In Mumbai, he got the opportunity to work with AchalaAshar, a renowned screenwriter, and assisted him with the screenplays. Brijendra later got involved in writing dialogues for several television shows directed by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms. These included shows like ‘Kahani GharGhar Ki’ and many others. Brijendra’s first hiatus in acting came very late in 2003 when he got his first film, ‘Haasa,’ which he recognized for the heckled days.
In 2005, he got several films, including ‘Shabd’ ‘Raghu Romeo’ and ‘Bunty AurBabli.’ He later acted in other films like ‘AhistaAhista,’ ‘Gafla,’ ‘Mithya,’ ‘Jab We Met,’ ‘Aloo Chaat,’ and ‘Dasvidaniya.’ His hit movies include Kehte Udaan, Dha, PK, Shubh Mangal ZyadaSaavdhan, QaribQarib Single, Jolly LLB 2, Tubelight, Rustom, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Zero, Running Shaadi, PK, Batti Gul Meter Chalu, and Friday.
Some other movies are ‘Saloom,’ ‘RaatGayiBaatGayi,’ ‘Karthik Calling Karthik,’ ’10 ML Love’, ‘Pappu Can’t Dance Saala,’ ‘He also did Faas Gaye Re Obama’ and ‘Dus Tola.’
Brijendra Kala continues to contribute to Bollywood. He has many of his films releasing this year. One of his upcoming films is ‘Bunty AurBabli 2’. Brijendra has a humble personality and is still very much connected to his motherland Uttarakhand. That is the reason why he always keeps visiting his birthplace from Mumbai, time and again.
