Rohit Chauhan is a name that is quite popular amongst people of all age groups across Uttarakhand. Hailing from a musical background, Rohit has been winning people’s hearts ever since his early childhood.
He was born on 10 April 1995 in Noida. His father, Rajendra Chauhan, is a music director, while his mother, Kalpana Chauhan, is one of Uttarakhand’s most renowned singers. He completed his education in Noida itself.
Coming from a musical background, his interest in music was natural. He considers his parents as his best mentors as they supported him and trained him always.
At the time when most children think about which toy to purchase, Rohit was working to pursue his dreams. His debut album was released in 2005. A young voice resonated with people’s hearts a lot. Though he lived in Noida, he always had a special place for Uttarakhand in his heart.
Even though his family was away from Uttarakhand, yet the atmosphere in their home was like the one they had back in their village. They would always converse in Garwahli and were connected to their traditions, says Rohit.
His song ‘Pahad Chhutige’ is a ballad about how a child misses the village he left behind to pursue his dream.
