Having spent a lifetime focusing on your own life, pursuing your own needs and wants, now it’s time to include another one into it and make them an inseparable part of your life.

Marriages are essentially the beginning of a new phase oflife and brings with it a whole array of changes both sweet and sour, all depending upon how you like to consider them. As it is rightly said, marriages are not the bond of two individuals but two families. It may be seen as the merger of two streams that come together to form a bigger one, their waves splashing with each other. Marriages are unarguably the start of new relationships, relationships to last forever.

When you think of your marriage, excitement is inevitable and you almost instantly start picturing the multitude of different flavors that would be added to your life post-marriage. You would finally get someone who would make you feel special, someone who would always wait upon you and who you would look out for.

But amidst all this do we forget to consider that it’s not merely about one person, it’s about a whole new family and the family to come. Marriage is another name for responsibilities too. And that means getting more reasonable than you ever have been. Putting family before self and which means doing away with all the hot-headedness and rash attitude that has been an indispensable part of the hot-blooded life so far.

Whether it’s about getting someone’s daughter to your house or leaving your house to join another family, before your family or your own rash mind convinces you into saying ‘yes’, the first question to ask yourself is, ‘Am I ready?

Am I ready to put someone else before my own self? Am I ready to accept another family as my own? Am I ready to accept people as they are, even if they are not what I want them to be?

Yes marriages are amazing and they truly are a new beginning if you are ready to make one.
