Ranikhet is a major hill tourist destination in the state of Uttarakhand. It is a military cantonment located under the Almora district of the state. Ranikhet is a lovely hill station surrounded by deodar and oak trees. The snow-covered Central Himalayan ranges can be clearly seen from this place. Pindari Glacier, Kausani, Chaubatia, and Kalika can be conveniently reached for excursions from Ranikhet.

Mankameshwar Temple Ranikhet is a religious and holy temple situated at a short distance of 500 meters from Ranikhet Bus Stand. It is easily accessible as it is only 1 km away from Ranikhet. This religious temple is situated next to Narsingh Maidan in Ranikhet. According to the local people, Mankameshwar Temple was built in 1978 by the Kumaon Regimental Center. This place is located near the Rani Jheel army cantonment area, and the temple is located near Rani Jheel.
The idol of Lord Shiva, Mother Kalika, and Radha Krishna is installed in the temple, and due to this temple being surrounded by deodar and pine trees, the temple’s natural beauty attracts tourists.
Tourists can also visit the Gurudwara and the Woolen Textile Factory, which is located near the temple. According to the legend, if a devotee makes a wish in this temple with a sincere heart, it is fulfilled soon. After this, a bell and trident are presented in the temple as a gift.
Every year at the festival of Janmashtami, beautiful Jhankhis are presented by the soldiers of the Kumaon Regiment in the temple. A huge Bhandara is also organized in the temple on this occasion.
