Barkha Bisht is an Indian television and film actress who has worked in Hindi TV serials and Bengali and Hindi movies. She was born on December 28, 1979, in Hisar, Haryana. She is a Garhwali and originally belongs to Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
She has three siblings, she is the youngest among them. Barkha spent her childhood in Kolkata, her father was a Colonel. She did her schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya and at Fort William, Kolkata. She was voted as the NDA Queen, in December 2002. She was always popular among her friends.
Barkha Bisht made her first appearance on Television in ‘Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi’ as Udita. She made her big-screen debut with the Hindi film ‘Rajneeti’ and Bengali film debut with ‘Dui Prithibi’.
Barkha is married to Indraneil Sengupta, who is her fellow actor and a co-star from the shows ‘Pyaar Ke Do Naam: Ek Raadha Ek Shyaam’ and ‘Doli Sajake’. They have a film in common too. Barkha and Indraneil got married on 2 March 2008 in Haridwar after two years of courtship. After two years of their marriage, Barkha gave birth to a baby girl named Meira.
She started her career with a television show named ‘Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi’. Then she appeared on the Star Plus TV show ‘Pyar Ke Do Naam: Ek Radha Ek Shyam’ in which she played the lead role. She has also played the lead role of Anupama in a show named ‘Doli Sajake’. She also played supportive roles on the shows like ‘Kasauti Zindagi Ki’, ‘Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Kaa’ and ‘Kavyanjali’. She is best known for her role as Hanuman’s mother Anjana in a show named ‘Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman’. She has also played the character of Draupadi which was loved by the audience.
Barkha Bisht has also acted in many movies like ‘Rajneeti’, ‘Goliyo ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela’ and hit web series like ‘Love- affairs’, ‘Kamini’ and ‘Ratri Key Yatri’.
Barkha is also a staunch believer of the philosophy – “Live and Let Live”.
