Born as Mina Singh Rana on 24 May 1975 in Delhi, she had a keen interest in music since childhood. She did her schooling at Butler Memorial Girls Senior Secondary school, Delhi, and then Mussoorie at Girls Inter College. She later completed her graduation from Delhi University. She made her first-ever musical performance by singing ‘Naino me BadraChaye’ by Lata Mangeshkar for the Akashwani club in Mussoorie at the age of 16.
Her musical career started with the Garhwali film ‘NauniPichchadiNauni’ in 1992, in which she gave her voice for three songs. Surprisingly, before her debut, Mina had no formal training in singing. She started her training after her first movie. Since then, there was no looking back for her.
