Lakha Mandal temple lies in the lap of mountains and is surrounded by a beautiful scenario from all sides. Temple is located near the pleasant view of the Yamuna river.
It is situated about 20 kilometers from the pristine hill station of Chakrata in Uttarakhand.
Opposite the entry from Kalsi, we reach the dirt road, which takes us to the very historic lost city of Lakha Mandal located in Uttarakhand.
According to mythology, this is the place where Duryodhan tried to burn the Pandavas and their mother Kunti alive.
The temple here is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and their devotees come here from all parts of the country. The main attraction of the Lakha Mandal Temple is Shiva’s graphite Lingam. It shines when water is put on it. Inside the temple, the idols of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Lord Kartikeya, Lord Ganesha, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Bajrangbali have been established. Apart from this, two-six ft statues of dwarapalakas are there at the entrance to the temple. Some locals say that the dwarapalakas statues belong to the Pandava brothers Bhima and Arjuna.
