The village of Kharsali of Uttrakhand, also called ‘Khushimath,’ is a place filled with love and peace in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand state.
The religious significance of this place is valuable, as it is called the winter seat of goddess Yamuna.
Since the Yamunotri became challenging to access, the goddess is brought here to be worshipped.
It is also famous for the oldest Shani Dev temple located in this region. When goddess Yamuna comes here in winters, she is kept in the Shani Dev temple only for worship.

When the first week of May approaches, every year, on the occasion of ‘Akshaya Tritiya’ around Diwali, Lord Shani Dev comes to meet his sister Yamuna at Yamunotri. He then returns to Kharsali village and waits until the ‘Bhai Dooj’ or ‘Yam Dwitiya’ comes and takes her to Kharsali to stay with him.
This place is a gem for Hindu pilgrims.
