Lord Shiva was meditating in this area of the Himalayas, and when he came to know that Pandavas were coming to meet him, he vanished by taking the form of Nandi here. Hence, Kashi Vishwanath is also called Guptkashi. The Jyotirlinga of Kashi Vishwanath temple Uttarakhand is in two parts. Mother Parvati is seated in the form of Shakti on the right side. On the other hand, Lord Shiva is seated on the left. That is why Kashi is also called ‘Mukti Kendra.’
