Ishita has completed her graduation in B.Tech. She hails from Uttarakhand in Haridwar. She joined CRPF in 2017, and after completing basic and commando training, she was posted to district Bijapur. Ishita Chauhan has led her company in several campaigns and was also on duty in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. 27-year-old Ishita Chauhan, Assistant Commandant 229 Battalion posted in the CRPF area, launched the #BleedBold campaign to create awareness and insight into discriminatory practices followed in remote villages. Ishita Chauhan is the lone woman officer of CRPF in Bijapur working for women.
Bijapur is the second least literate district in India, thus making it fertile land for superstitions.
To reach out to tribal women, Ishita Chauhan boarded a platoon of the Bastaria Battalion, which was inducted last year.
