Bhagat Singh Koshyari was born on 17 June 1942 in the remote village of PalnaduraChetabgarh, Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand. He is a well-known politician. Bhagat ji is a member of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). He has also been a member of RSS and made National Vice President of BJP. Koshiyari being a prominent leader, had been selected as BJPs first State President for Uttarakhand.
Currently he’s the serving governor of Maharashtra
Koshiyari served as the second Chief Minister of Uttarakhand between 2001-2002. Later in between 2002-2003, he became the leader of the opposition in the legislative assembly of Uttarakhand.
Koshiyari was born in a Kumaoni Rajpoot family. His father was Gopal Singh Koshyari, and his mother was Motima Devi. He has a Master’s in English from Almora College. He was appointed as General Secretary of Student Union in his college in Almora. During the year 1982, he was selected to represent the Executive Council at the University of Kumaon.
Besides being a leader and politician, he had always been interested in being a teacher. He had been a good and successful teacher in a college named Raja Inter College. There he worked as a lecturer. He had also been a lecturer at Raja Ka Rampur, Etah district of Uttar Pradesh. Furthermore, he had an interest in journalism too. Thus, he has worked as a journalist and excelled at this job as well. He is known to be the founder and editor of a well-established magazine named Parvat Piyush. The magazine has been published weekly in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, since 1975. He has also published two of his creations, ‘Uttaranchal Pradesh Kyun?’ and ‘Uttaranchal Sangharsh Evam Samadhan.’ Moreover, he is interested in reading historical, philosophical, and religious books.
Bhagat Singh Koshyari is a very polite and humble person. He has been socially working a lot for the people around him. He has been the founder of many schools in Uttarakhand. Some of them are SaraswatiShishu Mandir, Pithoragarh, Vivekanand Vidya Mandir Inter College, Pithoragarh, and SaraswatiVihar Higher Secondary School, Nainital.
Bhagat Singh Koshyari is a dynamic and enthusiastic leader. Having done a lot for his motherland, he is loved for his work. The country needs more leaders like him.
