Ashish Dangwal was an assistant teacher in Government Inter College, Bankholi village of Uttarkashi, from December 2017 to August 21, 2021. About 200 children from seven villages study in the school. Dangwal Ji said, “I had spent three years teaching children in this school and with the villagers of those seven villages. They always treated me like a member of their families.”
When Ashish Ji told the villagers that he had been transferred to the post of lecturer in another school in Tehri Garhwal district, people could not believe it. According to Dangwal Ji, on coming to know about his transfer, the villagers expressed their desire to organize a farewell for him. Ashish agreed to this but at the same time put a condition. The condition was that a function should not be too big. He was not just the school teacher of the children, but the whole village was his family.
He always stood by every villager in the hour of need. His dropping out of school was like a great loss for all. The villagers consider themselves grateful to him. Ashish is one of the few teachers who decided to stay in the village where the school was located. Otherwise, most teachers live in more comfortable places away from the village. Ashish Ji’s dedication and compassion towards children touched the hearts of the villagers. According to him, blessings will always be in their hearts.
According to Dangwal Ji, during his initial days in school, it was not easy to adjust things, but gradually he managed it.
This was his first stint as a school teacher. For the first six months, they had to face some problems as the culture and language of the area’s villagers were different from his.
However, This Viral Uttarakhand teacher did not give up and kept trying. Eventually, he learned the language and culture, which helped him connect with the children and the villagers. On the day of his farewell, villagers and children from seven villages in the Kersu Valley of Uttarkashi gathered near his school with tears in their eyes and drums in their hands. They could not believe that their teacher, whom they considered a member of their family, was going away.
