A father passionate about the game, with his son named after his academy. Cricket was a natural path for Abhimanyu. Abhimanyu Easwaran is one of the latest batting sensations in India. His performances in domestic matches earned him a chance to the National team as a ‘standby’. Although he couldn’t make a place in the team, for some time but he was seen along with the team.
Abhimanyu is an Indian cricketer who plays for Bengal. He was born in the beautiful city of Dehradun. He is a right-handed opening batsman. His full name is” Abhimanyu Ranganathan Parameswaran Easwaran” and he was born on 6 Sept 1995 to a Tamilian father and a Punjabi mother.
He started his training at a very early stage of life under his father Ranganathan Parameshwaran Easwaran at Abhimanyu cricket academy. The academy was started by his father in 1988.
At the age of 10, he moved to Kolkata, West Bengal to pursue his career in cricket. He resided there with his coach Nirmal Sengupta.
Despite being from Uttarakhand, when he made his debut in the Ranji Trophy, it was with the Bengal team, because he lived and trained himself in Bengal from the beginning. He made his first-class cricket debut in 2013 against UP in Ranji Trophy.
After 6 years of debut, he had a breakout as the leading run-scorer for Bengal in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy. During the 2019-20 Duleep Trophy Finals, Abhimanyu emerged as a mega player that put him on the radar of the Indian selectors.
Abhimanyu is one of the very few Indians who have participated in the Dhaka Premier League. He played for Prime Bank, which is one of the top sides in the league held in Bangladesh.
He became the captain of the West Bengal team at the age of 23.
As a player, he wasn’t doing great in the season but as a captain, he led the team very well to the finals where they lost the match to Saurashtra.
