In today’s time, everyone knows who is Ajit Doval. He is the fifth and current National Security Advisor, with the precedence of a Cabinet Minister to the Prime Minister of India.
On 1945, January 20, Doval was born in GhiriBanelsyun village in Pauri Garhwal.
Doval belongs to an army family. His father, who belongs to an army background, was a man of dignity and pride.
He did his early education at Ajmer Military School, Rajasthan. In 1967, he graduated with a master’s degree in economics from Agra University.
In December 2017, he was awarded a Doctorate at B.R Ambedkar University and in 2018, from Kumaon, and In 2019 from Amity University, Noida.
In 1968, Ajit Kumar Doval joined the Kerala cadre as ASP of Kottayam district in-service as an officer of the Indian Police Service. He was also posted in Punjab and Pakistan several times and worked as an anti-national operations officer in Punjab.
Ajit was also involved in the release of the passengers from Indian Airlines IC-814. In 1999, during the release of passengers from IC-814 in Kandahar, he was one of three negotiators.
He played an essential role in the merging of Sikkim in India. He got his training under M. K. Narayanan, the third National Security Advisor.
He has also worked as director of the Intelligence Bureau. In 2005, he retired from the Intelligence Bureau.
After that, he became the director at the Vivekanand International Foundation.
He co-wrote about Indian Black money in foreign banks in 2009 and 2011.
He was also awarded the president police medal. For Meritorious service, he was the youngest policeman to receive that award. In 1988, he received Kirti Chakra, one of the highest gallantry awards. He became the first police to receive this award because only the army personnel were awarded this before.
On May 30, 2014, Doval was appointed as India’s 5th National Security Adviser.
After retirement, Doval has been giving guest lectures in different reputed institutions and has worked as a spokesperson at many international forums about how the world’s emerging powers should work together.
